Borderlands 3 Review

The original Borderlands was successful by capitalizing on gun fetishism inherent to shooting games; B3 doubles down on this trend by offering more guns than you can possibly use!

This story follows Troy and Tyreen Calypso, twin siblings living together. Although the writing aims for humor, most often falls flat as does its dramaturgical impact.

Gameplay

Borderlands 3 is Gearbox Software’s streamlined take on its acclaimed looter shooter franchise, boasting smooth gameplay that remains as fluid as ever with new additions and refinements that enhance character movement such as pulling yourself up onto ledges or performing ground slams, and improved gunplay such as firing bullets in an all-over heart pattern or toggling between two modes of firing (one for precision shooting, and the other rapid).

Enemy AI has greatly improved, yet still needs work. At times it feels somewhat spongey while enemies rush you in an annoying fashion when playing at normal difficulty; however, sidequests and customized dungeons add plenty of value and replayability to the experience.

Moze and Zane provide a fun cast of characters, offering some corny humor that doesn’t always land and Amara providing some endearing one-liners. FL4K adds his backhanded compliments and knowledge of pop-culture references as welcome additions to the team as well.

Characters

All the playable characters in Fortnite are enjoyable, with Zane being an excellent starting character as she provides beginners with plenty of skills that help them survive and kill enemies. She can summon a clone who shoots enemies alongside him which adds another layer of fun; also getting a permanent pet who provides health regen or movement speed buffs is always useful too!

Amara is another excellent starting character to consider for beginners as she boasts ranged abilities that allow her to pick up turrets easily. If shooting from long range is something that makes you uncomfortable, Moze may not be suitable as his rocket launcher only makes an impactful presence when in close quarters combat.

All the playable characters come equipped with skill trees to upgrade and diversify gameplay, as well as passive abilities that increase damage output or survivability. Moze, for instance, can equip two action skills at the same time and use his grenade launcher to launch explosive projectiles across a large area; additionally he can perform ground pound attacks that work great when in low gravity environments or finding a ledge for climbing on.

Sidequests

Borderlands 3 defies convention and reinvents itself after five years away by sporting its excesses as an honorable badge, while at the same time offering one of its strongest installments yet. Refined movement and shooting controls, challenging enemies, and the biggest arsenal of mechanically distinct guns ever seen in any video game make this experience both captivating and addictive.

Borderlands 3’s story follows in the tradition of its predecessors – it focuses on Troy and Tyreen Calypso as they search across space for vaults that will cause mass destruction. Writing, acting and humor all perform admirably; however, humor from an earlier era such as surface level vulgarity may not always be funny anymore.

No matter which sidequests you pursue, they won’t affect your progress in the campaign – however completing them can yield great rewards and add hours of playable gameplay, especially with a friend! On top of this they give good XP gains and can help boost weapons or enemy health! Mayhem mode allows you to come back after finishing up the main missions to complete any unfinished sidequests that still need clearing while scaling your enemies up appropriately and adding modifiers like increased energy weapon damage or decreased action skills to shake things up further!

Story

Five years have passed since Gearbox’s Borderlands first came to market, setting new standards in looter shooter gaming. BORDERLANDS 3 retains some aspects of this iconic series that defined looter shooters – its unique mix of cell-shaded violence, Space Western style and obsolete memes remains as present as ever despite some aspects feeling outdated or off target.

As in previous games of this genre, you take control of a vault hunter: an adventurer/mercenary hoping to locate Pandora and its environs in search of its legendary Vault of riches. However, unlike previous Borderlands installments, this one forgoes having the player character take center stage; instead using an onscreen narrator as their guide through this adventure and explaining who’s doing what when.

Still, BORDERLANDS 3’s campaign is great fun: with its trademark sophomoric humor taking aim at internet culture and corporate narcissism while also introducing colorful characters you’ll want to spend time with. BORDERLANDS 3 also delivers more diverse gameplay as heroes fly between environments fighting psychos and bandits alike in everything from an isolated monastery to an industrial megacity; combatting psychos and bandits along the way in everything from an isolated monastery or industrial megacity; weapons are abundant allowing players to find their perfect combination of damage impact, accuracy magazine size, magazine size reload rate is enjoyable and satisfying process that could last throughout your experience in BORDERLANDS 2.
