The Best Nintendo Switch Games Out Right Now

There’s no greater draw to a Nintendo Switch than its incredible selection of amazing games, from modern Nintendo classics such as Breath of the Wild to beloved indie titles like Hollow Knight. We’ve had many extraordinary years for this console!

These are the top Nintendo Switch games, whether you prefer docked mode or handheld play.

1. Pokemon Quest

Nintendo Switch offers plenty to love if you’re an indie game fanatic, from free-to-download titles on its eShop to multiplayer options that support multiplayer gameplay – plus, many can be enjoyed simultaneously! Plus, multiplayer support means many can even be enjoyed simultaneously!

Hades is an exceptional roguelite set in the underworld of Greek mythology. As you battle a cast of gods and deities in this engaging game, each run feels fresh thanks to an abundance of weapon and buff combinations you can experiment with – this experience stands out among all indie experiences available on Switch.

Super Mario Odyssey, another fantastic Switch-exclusive title, provides players with an immersive and captivating adventure, mixing classic Mario platforming with massive open world exploration for an incredible gaming experience that keeps players coming back for more! It is sure to become a perennial classic.

Nintendo Switch owners looking for an unforgettable Zelda adventure must get The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening as part of their library. This remake is far superior to its predecessor in terms of dungeon design and inventory management; new graphics also make Koholint Island feel even more surreal and engaging. Plus, the paid Torna – The Golden Country expansion adds even more content and things to do to this unforgettable journey!

2. Super Kirby Clash

Super Kirby Clash is a free-to-start game where up to three friends can unite against devious bosses with you on one system*, local wireless** or online* to complete quests, boost power and craft weapons in order to take down formidable foes – both new and returning ones not seen in Kirby Star Allies!

Choose between four Kirby characters that specialize in different attacks and skills – Sword Hero uses swords and blades, Hammer Lord excels with hammers, Beam Mage uses magic from a distance, while Doctor Healmore heals teammates – to take on any boss that appears. While gameplay might resemble that found in mainline Kirby games, later bosses can ramp up the intensity.

The game includes an engaging story. A villain known as Hornhead has caused chaos in the Seaside Kingdom. Bandana Waddle Dee, King of the Seaside Kingdom, summons Kirby to help defend it; together with Yellow Kirby and Blue Kirby he forms a team to confront this threat; moving through realm after realm slaying monsters before reaching Parallel Nightmare who is mastermind behind this menace.

Kirby fans should find plenty to enjoy in Super Kirby Clash, though I found it lacking some of the clever side modes like Chop Champs and Star Slam Heroes from Kirby Mass Attack for the DS. Overall it wasn’t bad but simply doesn’t match other recent Kirby releases in terms of visual flair or features.

3. Tetris 99

Tetris 99 offers an exciting take on the battle royale genre with 99 other Tetris players competing to clear as many lines as possible while attacking others for bonus points along the way. Not only is this an immersive puzzle game, but also provides yet another incentive to maintain your Nintendo Switch Online subscription!

Tetris 99 stands out as one of the premier Nintendo Switch games due to its combination of portability and quality; perfect for use both at home on TV as well as while traveling via portable hotspot. Play it anytime you have free time – be it during an airplane journey or lunch break!

Tetris 99 feels brand new thanks to its intense pace and use of features such as HD Rumble and motion sensing on Sony’s newest console. Furthermore, this game leverages its Tetris UI well, offering plenty of customizability options and offering extra challenges as ways of earning rewards – something an upcoming update may add.

4. PAC-MAN 99

Pac-Man 99 was an innovative approach to the battle royale game genre, offering players a chance to compete against up to 99 online opponents in classic maze-running action. Inspired by other battle royale free-to-play titles like Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros 35 (RIP), but managed to remain engaging by adding novel features such as gobbling ghosts that slow or stop another player’s run and scoring points by gathering fruit or power pellets near the edge of the screen.

Sad as it may be, console game developers increasingly are ending live services due to either decreasing consumer interest or server maintenance costs. Thankfully, anyone who purchased either the Deluxe Pack or Mode Unlock will still be able to play PAC-MAN 99 offline via CPU Battle mode, Blind Time Attack and Score Attack; any purchased themes will also remain accessible offline.

Arika, a division of Nintendo, and Bandai Namco collaborated on this free-to-play multiplayer maze game featuring classic gameplay with the rising popularity of battle royale genre. PAC-MAN 99 was offered as an incentive for those subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online until October 8th; after which point, it will no longer be offered.
